He went to his housemate's room. The door was open; the occupant nowhere in sight. Maybe he's cooking in the kitchen? Wolfe asked himself hopefully, though he doubted it himself as the house was too quiet and void of action. Wolfe went downstairs to the kitchen nonetheless. And of course, the entire downstairs was surrounded in silence, without a single light being turned on. Just to make sure his housemate was not sleeping on the couch or anywhere, Wolfe turned on the lights and checked. Nope, he himself was the only one home.
