As doctors continue to optimize alternative pregnancy methods, one couple in South China's Guangdong province had too much luck, adding eight babies to the family.

A gaggle of eight newborns...

Their parents were up until recently, a well off, but infertile couple. They spent much of their savings trying In Vitro Fertilization.

They transferred eight embryos among the wife, and two hired surrogate mothers to increase their chances. Much to their surprise, all attempts were a success.

The couple’s neighbour, wishing to remain anonymous, released some details.

"They had intended to work with a Chinese doctor for the fertilization, but their attempt failed. Finally, a professor from America helped them succeed. "

The millionaire couple hired 11 nannies and a full-time driver to take care of the four boys and four girls.

"Eight nannies look after the babies, and one does the cleaning, while the other does the cooking. They also hired a teacher."

Having eight babies may be bitter sweet, as the couple could face severe repercussions from the local government.
