The King's Speech

The King's Speech is a 2010 British historical drama film directed by Tom Hooper and written by David Seidler.Colin Firth plays King George VI who, to cope with a stammer, sees Lionel Logue, an Australian speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush. The men become friends as they work together, and after his brother abdicates the throne, the new King relies on Logue to help him make his first wartime radio broadcast on Britain's declaration of war on Germany in 1939.
本片讲述的是现任英国女王伊丽莎白二世的父亲，乔治六世国王治疗口吃的故事，根据英国历史真实故事改编而成。身为约克公爵的乔治，是英国王位第二继承人，父亲是国王乔治五世，兄长是王储威尔士亲王爱德华。乔治从小有严重的口吃，为了应付演说而时有无力感，遂连同妻子寻找语言治疗师来治疗自己，最终找到了澳大利亚籍的莱恩尼尔·罗格（Lionel Logue），但却又以龃龉与罗格决裂。乔治五世去世后，王储爱德华即位，但仍过著风花雪月的人生，不理睬因纳粹德国崛起而岌岌可危的朝政，且坚持要与一个离过两次婚的华丽思女士结婚，与离婚女子结婚，违背了英国国教与王室的继承规定，首相鲍得温于是令爱德华做出选择，不愿放弃美人的爱德华，选择禅让王位与乔治，退隐山林，称“温莎公爵”。乔治本无心问鼎宝座，却因兄长不负责任的退位，不得不加冕登基，是为乔治六世。乔治六世此时再次想到罗格，为了能顺利发表各种演说，乔治六世辛苦经历了一系列的语言训练，不但与罗格成为好友，口吃也大为好转。最后结局，是乔治六世向当时二次大战中的英国人的一次著名战时演说，其发表顺利，声调铿锵有力，鼓舞了全国军民。

《国王的演讲》（The King's Speech，片名中speech既解作演讲，也解作说话能力，是双关语）是2010年由汤姆·霍伯执导的英国传记片。男主角科林·费尔斯获得了包括第68届金球奖最佳剧情片男主角、第83届奥斯卡金像奖最佳男主角在内的许多表演奖。影片还在第83届奥斯卡金像奖中获得12项提名，并勇夺最佳影片、最佳原创剧本、最佳导演及最佳男主角四项大奖‎。
