Pro-Russia insurgents freed one of the 8 European military observers being held prison in eastern Ukraine on Sunday, citing medical reasons. Earlier in the day, all eight appeared in public in the first time under armed guard giving assurances they weren’t being mistreated.
 
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu brushed aside comments made by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in which he called the holocaust the most heinous crime of modern history. Netanyahu says Abbas can’t say the holocaust was terrible. But at the same time embrace those who deny the holocaust and seek to destroy the Jewish people.
 
This comes as Israel began its annual holocaust memorial day with the nation’s leaders attending a solemn ceremony. 6-million Jewish were killed during the holocaust wiping out a third of the world’s Jewish population.
 
And Pope Francis has elevated two of his predecessors to Sainthood. John, the 23rd, and John Paul, the 2nd, were declared Saints in a historical Vatican ceremony on Sunday.
