Hired by the defense, an expert witness's testimony supports George Zimmerman’s account that Trayvon Martin was on top of him when Zimmerman fired his gun into martin's chest. However, under cross-examination the pathologist conceded the wound could also be consistent with Martin pulling away from Zimmerman.
 
The Texas House is debating a bill that will impose tough new restrictions on abortions. Republican leaders are intent on passing it quickly, possibly this afternoon. Democrats and women's rights supporters have protested the bill for weeks, saying conservatives are trying to make the procedure harder to get.
 
The White House is calling Egypt’s new election plan a positive sign. Egypt’s interim president scheduled a referendum on a new constitution in four months with parliamentary elections two months later. President Barack Obama’s spokesman says the White House is cautiously encouraged.
 
Mexico's Volcano Popo is spewing ash and vapor into the sky. The area remains on yellow alert, which means no evacuation plans are in place. Some 25 million people live within a 60-mile radius of the volcano.
