01月06日：Did you stay up late last night?昨晚你熬夜了？

up：熬夜
例如：Mary's father will not permit her to stay up late.（玛丽的父亲不允许她熬夜。）
          He could stay up nights and sleep the whole day through.（他能几夜不睡，又能整天睡觉。）

01月07日：Some people compare books to friends.有些人把书比作朋友。

例如：He used to have unlimited power.（他曾拥有无限的权力。）
          Hey, you used to have blond hair, didn't you?（喂，你以前是金发，不是吗？）

01月12日：That's a bargain, mate! Take it away.伙计，我同意了，你拿走吧！

away：带走，从…中减去，使停止
例如：Take away 3 from 5 and you get 2.（五减三得二。）
          Take away these tea-cups.（把这些茶杯拿走。）
