你想日后给这位新结识的朋友打电话。你问他，是否介意你以后打电话给他：

Do you mind if I call you later?

别人请你跳舞你不想跳。你有礼貌地告诉他，你不想跳，请他不要介意：

Do you mind if we don't dance?

夜深了，你征得丈夫同意你迟睡一会儿，就问他，是否介意你晚睡：

Would you mind if I stay up late?

有女士在场，吸烟者应征得女士的同意。你可以问她，介不介意你在这里抽烟：

注：

"Do you mind…"与"Would you mind…"是请求别人帮忙时的客套用语，意为：“可否请您……”，“……您不会介意吧”；或自己要做什么而请求对方谅解的用语，意为“我……可以吗？”
