Hey guys - Jonathon Stewart here for with today's 90 Second Quick Tip. Looking for the best way to ward off a chilly evening at home? While there's some debate over the origin and ingredients of this recipe, there's no question that if you're in need of some liquid warmth, then you can't go wrong with an Irish coffee.

Irish Coffee Ingredients
For today's recipe, here's what you'll need - check it out:
2 ounces of top-shelf Irish whiskey
2 teaspoons of brown sugar
about 5 ounces of freshly brewed fair trade coffee
RBST-free heavy cream

Irish Coffee Origins
Rumor has it that in the 1940s, a bartender named Joe Sheridan wanted to create a beverage that would welcome the first flying trans-Atlantic American tourists to the Emerald Isle in classic Irish style. By 1947, his new creation was so popular, that Irish Coffee became the official beverage of Shannon International Airport. Apparently some frisky Nor-Cal journalist really dug this invigorating yet soothing beverage, as he brought it back to he States, where it became the official beverage of San Francisco in 1953. Who knew all these places had official drinks?

Mix the Irish Coffee
Start by heating a stemmed glass whiskey goblet or wine glass by filling it with hot water, and letting it sit for about a minute. Empty the water and start by pouring in your whiskey and sugar, and stirring gently. Add your coffee, leaving about a half inch to an inch of room at the top, and stir until all the sugar has dissolved. Finally, whip your heavy cream until it's thickened just a bit, and pour over the back of a spoon, floating a creamy layer on top. Be sure to use cream that is fresh and additive free, or you might run into a muddy mess.

Not only is this drink delicious, it'll let everyone around you know exactly how sophisticated you really are.
