食品“辐照门”事件将大众并不熟知的一项特殊杀菌技术推到公众眼前，与此同时，越来越多的工作环境“辐照门”事件，也引发了人们对在“辐照”类工作场所工作的隐忧。

China is facing a growing problem with more and more accidents in the workplace involving radiation exposure, experts have said. The number of radiation sources in the country reached 106,000 at the end of 2008, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

专家表示，中国工作场所辐照事故增多，所带来的问题日益严重。根据国家环保部的统计，2008 年底，全国辐射源总数达到十万六千个。

在上面的报道中，radiation exposure 就是指“辐照”，顾名思义，就是指暴露在辐射中。在医学领域，radiation exposure 可以用来治病，例如 radiotherapy（放疗）就是利用射线电离辐射的生物学效应来“杀死”肿瘤细胞。而如果人过多的接触 radiation source（放射源），或者接受 high levels/doses of radiation（高强度辐射），就可能导致 radiation sickness（辐射病）。

照相的时候，我们需要注意 exposure time（曝光时间），为了达到特殊效果，还会使用 double exposure（双重曝光）。为了避免过多的 ultraviolet radiation（紫外线辐射），夏天我们会擦 sunscreen cream（防晒霜），核电站为了杜绝 nuclear radiation（核辐射），都会采取严密的安全措施。
