By the time the pair finished the dessert, they got ready to leave. His guest, the interior designer, expressed how much he liked the food, thanking his host for the hospitality. Hodge smiled and said, “Anytime. That was my pleasure.” While they were on their way to leave the restaurant, Hodge was still observing his surroundings, taking in everything. It was close to the end of the lunch hour rush, but there were still quite a few tables of customers remaining. Some customers were still trickling in, taking advantage of the fact there was no need to wait for a table.
