【语言点讲解】

①WISH= 这个动词后面跟过去式（或"would"）:"I wish I wasn't afraid."（我希望我不会害怕。）

②PEOPLE= 在这句台词中，第一个”people“指的是“人”，最后一个“people”指的是“民族” （因为一个民族社会是由个人群体组成的）。所以第一个词是复数，第二个词是单数。

例句：

1- People here are very nice ( 1 person, 2 people) 这里的人们都很友善（1个人用“person”,2个人用“people”）

2- My people wants more freedom. All the peoples in the world need peace. 人民群众都想要更多的自由。全世界所有民族都需要和平。

③VIOLATION= Transgression（违反）（打破，违反纪律）

④CURFEW= 指在某一个时间后禁止人们在街道上活动的一项禁令。

⑤LENIENCY=（比较正式的用法）宽大处理。"Lenient"的反义词是“harsh, strict”(严格)[/cn]

⑥WE'RE WORKING ON SEVERAL LEADS= We have several lines of investigation; we are investigating different possibilities.

⑦FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH= 如果某些东西从地球表面上清除掉的话，那他们就消失了（可能被杀掉了），而且不可能再找回来。

⑧CODE NAME V= 一个代号叫“V”的人。单词“V”（等于罗马字符中的“5”）指的是11月5号（盖伊·福克斯被执行死刑的日子)。

⑨WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE= 如果你对某事“held accountable”的话，那就要对这件事有责任，并要因此付出代价。

⑩ON THE EDGE OF= 跟某物非常近，非常接近。。。

⑪OBLIVION= （正式用法）遗忘。如果某物“falls in oblivion”，那么它就被遗忘了，而且没有人记得它。在这里，总统害怕人们忘记了他们是多么地需要政府。

⑫VERDICT= 由法官或陪审团宣布的判决，判定一个犯人有罪与否及对其采取的处罚。

⑬VENGEANCE= 复仇（Revenge）。意大利语的“复仇”是"vendetta"。
