“The Walking Dead” Season 6 might finally deliver what the show’s characters have been hunting for since Season 1: A safe place to call home.

The survivors on the AMC drama thought they found it at Hershel’s farm, then thought they found it at the Prison and then thought they’d find it at Terminus. Now that they’ve arrived in Alexandria, executive producer David Alpert tells us that dream is within reach.

“This season on ‘The Walking Dead’ we’re getting to a place where there’s a real possibility for a true island of stability,” he says while promoting “Fear the Walking Dead” at 2015 summer TV press tour. “Our guys have been scrappy, on-the-road survivors. What happens when they don’t have that imminent pressure every day to stay alive?

“Some people react better to that than others. So once you’ve been in the wild, can you ever be fully domesticated again? That thematic is going to be a big note for us this season,” Alpert adds.
