1. Mexico's top health official says swine flu cases there appeared to be stabilizing. The nation is the center of the flu outbreak. Officials hope the trend continues, and the vaccine is available in six months. But this comes as new cases appear in the US and Europe.

2. Automaker Chrysler files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, now eligible for up to eight billion dollars in aid to rebuild. Bankruptcy becoming necessary after talks with some creditors fall apart. Officials say the bankruptcy should last 60 days.

3. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says it is "implausible, if not impossible" that North Korea will return to international talks to end its nuclear ambitions. The nation has kicked out all international monitors from its nuclear installations.

4. The swine flu has some people reaching for protective masks, including this pair of celebrities. Spencer and Heidi, stars of the MTV reality show, "The Hills", showed up the LA airport wearing masks returning from Mexico.
