背景介绍：

Canada is, without a doubt, a country of immigrants. The first groups of people, in the 1800’s, were citizens of France and England hoping to create a better life in the New World. Not much has changed, other than now we have citizens who originated from all over Europe, Asia, the Americas, Australia, and Africa. They, though, did not just originate there; they brought a piece of their home to their new country.

Canada is a multicultural society whose ethnocultural make-up has been shaped over time by immigrants and their descendents. 

Each new wave of immigration has added to the nation's ethnic and cultural composition. Over time, patterns of immigration have shifted. Historically, most immigrants came from Europe. More recently, the largest group of newcomers to Canada has come from Asia (including the Middle East). 

Data from the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS) showed that Canada is a nation with an ethnocultural mosaic as indicated by its immigrant population, the ethnocultural backgrounds of its people, the visible minority population, linguistic characteristics and religious diversity.

Recently, Canada closed the door for business immigration due to the fact that many immigrants seek for the identity to enjoy the benefits instead of creating more employment chances and contributing to the society. Those people usually go back to China after obtained the Canadian citizenship. Nonetheless, Canada still embraces the immigrants with special skills or with high education levels.
