Twitter trended its first day as a publicly traded company. The stock opened at 45 dollars and ten cents a share, 73% above its initial offering price. Twitter was the most anticipated IPO since Facebook.
 
The government says it's going to require a gradual phase-out of trans fats. They're found in some processed foods and are sometimes used by restaurants for frying. The commissioner of the FDA says the move could prevent 20,000 heart attacks and 7,000 deaths a year. The agency hasn't set a timeline.
 
Swiss scientists say Yasser Arafat ingested radioactive polonium most probably as a result of a deliberate poisoning. The Palestinian leader died in 2004. Palestinian officials accuse Israel of poisoning him, a claim Israel denies.
 
And the Olympic torch is in space. It arrived at the International Space Station Thursday. Astronauts will take it out on a spacewalk before returning it to Earth Monday ahead of the winter games in Sochi, Russia.
