背景介绍:

Let's learn some statistics about smoking before we start writing.
Of all smokers, 350 million are active smokers and the passive smokers are 540 million. About 5,400,000 people died from smoking around the globe, including 1 million in China, more than the death toll from HIV, tuberculosis, traffic accidents and suicide, account for 12% of total number of death each year.

In a lot of public places, smokers feel free to smoking, unaware of people around them. And it is very common to find smokers in restaurants and in your office. They do not feel obliged to limiting its negative impacts of second-hand smoking on the non-smokers.

话题:

1. Do you smoke? If you do, do you smoke away from people and have you ever made any attempt to give up smoking?
2 If you do not smoke, how do you look at that more young girls pick up smoking?
3 If you do not smoke, have you ever endured second-hand smoking and are you aware of its negative impacts on you?

范例1:

We have the biggest smoking population and most deaths from smoking in the world. While a few smokers realize the impact of their smoking behavior on family, friends and colleagues, a lot of non-smokers are falling into the victims of smoking. In some places, it is an etiquette and custom to hand out cigarettes when they meet. Now, many young girls have joined in this group, as they become addicted to smoking. And it is kind unexpected to discover your female colleagues hard-core smokers when receive the cigaretes from others.

I am really frustrated to sit next to smokers in a restaurants where air circulation is expecially awaful in winter. And I don't know how to ask them not smoking, as they really make me sick. Isn't it supposed to be an etiuqette of smoking and a rule enforced by restaurants and other public places?
