 Department of Trade

Trade talks between the United States and Chinese officials negotiating an agreement on clothing imports will again start Thursday in Beijing. The Department of Trade says negotiations will continue even though earlier statements from industry representatives suggested that the talks were over. The negotiations will deal with new limits placed on 19 kinds of Chinese clothing products exported to the United States. American clothing manufacturers say that low price Chinese imports have cost a loss of 26,000 jobs since clothing limits expired earlier this year.
