12月02日:Take care that you don't fall.注意点,别摔了。

care:当心,小心
例如:Take care not to deviate.(当心不要出偏差。)
          Take care not to break it.(留神别把它打破了。)

12月03日:I was scared silly.我都吓傻了。

v. 使惊恐,吓唬,受惊吓
例如:That should be enough to scare any man into grey hair.(那足以把任何人吓得头发发白。)
          I don't mean to scare you, honey.(我没要让你害怕的意思,宝贝。)

12月04日:We all chipped in to buy Jerry a going-away present.我们大家都凑了钱买一个送别礼物给杰瑞。

例如:Let's all chip in for a birthday present for Mary.(我们大家出钱买生日礼物送给玛丽。)
          Sorry to chip in, but did I hear you say Mary was coming soon?(对不起插一下话,我听你说玛丽不久要来,对吗?)

12月05日:I could hardly believe my ears.我简直不能相信自己的耳朵了。

例如:Between astonishment and joy, she could hardly say a word.(惊喜交集,她几乎说不出话来。)
          He could hardly believe his eyes.(他简直不敢相信自己的眼睛。)

12月06日:I feel so guilty about forgetting your birthday.我竟然忘了你的生日,我感到很内疚。

guilty about:感到愧疚
例如:I feel guilty about visiting her so rarely.(我因极少去看望她而感到惭愧。)
          They feel guilty about not is able to see their son often.(他们因不能经常去看望儿子而感到内疚。) 

12月07日He always takes pride in his work.他总是以他的工作为荣。

pride in:以...为傲
例如:I take pride in running with these great men.(我很荣幸与这些大人物交往。)
          We take pride in our responsibilities as teachers in new China.(作为新中国的教师,我们为自己的职责感到骄傲。)

12月08日:Fear always springs from ignorance.恐惧源于无知。

例如:Errors often spring from carelessness.(错误常由疏忽引起。)
          Literature and art can only spring from the life of the people.只有人民的生活才是文学艺术的唯一源泉。
