08月26日：Blood is thicker than water.血浓于水。

：厚的；茂密的；浓的
例如：He walked through the gloom of the thick forest.（他穿过茂密阴暗的森林。）
          My thick clothing deadened the blow.（我的厚衣减轻了打击的力量。）

08月27日：I should be on my way now.我应该出发了。

one's way：在往...去的路上
例如：I' ll stop by on my way home.（我将在回家的路上顺便进去看看。）
          I met him on my way back.（我在归途中遇到了他。）

08月28日：Fortune knocks once at every man's door.风水轮流转。

1.fortune：财富；运气；命运
例如：A good fortune fell by chance on me last night.（我昨晚意外地交上了好运。）
         This turn of fortune was unforeseen.（这时来运转是没有预见到的。）

08月29日：We look forward to receiving your quotation soon.我方期待尽快收到贵方的报价。

1.look forward to：期望，盼望
例如：We look forward to the dawn of better days.（我们期待较好的日子的来临。）
          I look forward to paying you a visit next week.（我期待着下星期去拜访你。）

08月30日：Don't punish Tommy. After all, he's only three years old!别惩罚汤米了，他毕竟才3岁！

all：毕竟，终究
例如：After all, we're the backbone of the country.（我们毕竟是国家的栋梁。）
          You don' t want to go after all, then.（那么说，你毕竟是不想去了。） 

08月31日：I am sorry, I didn't catch what you said.对不起，我没听清你说的话。

：接住；逮住；撞见；赶上；理解
例如：Go on in front. I'll soon catch you up.（你先走，我很快就赶上你。）
          Now listen for the last time and try to catch every sentence.（现在听最后一遍，要力求理解每个句子。）

09月01日：John accused me of being selfish. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!约翰指责我是个自私的人，真是五十步笑百步！

sb of (doing) sth：因某事指控某人
例如：We'll never accuse you of having done anything forgetful or unmanly.（我们决不会讲你不够朋友或没有男子汉气概的。）
          She can not accuse me of showing one bit of deceitful softness.（她不能控诉我说我表示过一点虚伪的温柔。）
