在《中国好声音》第一季的舞台里，不得不提的是吴莫愁，她2012年还只是一个大一学生，她以一首高难度Jessie J的《Price Tag》首先得到了庾澄庆的认可。有意思的是，在吴莫愁演唱时，杨坤扑过去按了那英的按钮，让第一个转身的哈林当场急眼：“什么意思？她没拍你帮她拍，我咬你啊！”杨坤说是不忍放过这个好声音，“不拍可惜。我为什么没转呢？不要怪我，我的名额确实满了！”

吴莫愁身上的摇滚气质从她唱响《price tag》第一个音节的瞬间就体现出来，这个“鹤城小光头”有着十足的欧美范儿，刘欢、那英、庾澄庆、杨坤4位评委和全场观众都不自觉地随着她的演唱律动。杨坤率先忍不住夸赞道：“真的好！”哈林以投入的表情回应表示赞同。直爽的那英也高度评价说：“给他(杨坤)急得都不行了，唱得太好了！”最先按铃的庾澄庆点评说：“选快歌其实是危险的，不容易表现出声音的动态。但她(吴莫愁)有，粗、细、假音、强、弱……音色很特别，没有办法想象一个东方女孩能唱出这种音色。”最后吴莫愁选择了哈林作为自己的导师。

很多歌迷一开始都无法接受吴莫愁，认为她唱歌声音过于刻意，过于扭捏。但是这才是真正的她。当吴莫愁在导师们问道：“你父亲还唱吗？”吴莫愁笑着回答：“不唱了，不唱了换我唱了。”其实早在吴莫愁高考的前一个星期，她的爸爸不幸离世，成为莫愁心中永远的痛。而她没有选择在台前煽情地叙述着自己的失去父亲的痛苦，而是把这些当成美好的回忆，仅凭这一点，这个内心坚强的女孩就成为了歌迷心中无可取代的吴莫愁。
