More than a year after its release, The Avengers is still proving powerful as it conquered the 39th annual Saturn Awards Wednesday night.

The superhero spectacle racked up four honors from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films including best science-fiction film, supporting actor (Clark Gregg), best director (Joss Whedon) and best special effects.

In other movie categories, Life of Pi won for best fantasy film, best horror/thriller went to The Cabin in the Woods and Skyfall was honored for best action/adventure film.

Breaking Bad led all TV shows with three Saturn Awards: best presentation on television, best actor (Bryan Cranston, who tied with The Following's Kevin Bacon) and best supporting actor on television (Jonathan Banks). The Walking Dead won for best cable/syndicated series and best supporting actress on television (Laurie Holden).

The organization paid tribute to the late Richard Matheson, who was scheduled to attend, but passed away from natural causes on Sunday, June 23rd.
