05月06日:Our destiny offers not the cup of despair, but the chalice of opportunity.命运给予我们的不是失望之酒,而是机会之杯。  

v. 给予,提供;试图;出价;提议;献祭
例如: He offered me a glass of wine.(他端给我一杯酒。)
           Jerry has offered to take a share in the work.(杰里表示愿意参加这项工作。)

05月07日:They invented hugs to let people know you love them without saying anything.人类发明了拥抱,什么都不用说,就能让人知道你爱他们。 

v. 发明,创造,捏造
例如:Do you know who invent paper?(你知道是谁发明的纸吗?)
         He would invent fanciful names on the spot.(他会当场编造出一些希奇古怪的货名。)

05月08日:I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.我走得很慢,但是我从来不会后退。

例如:I walked backwards down the stairs, carrying the heavy box.(我扛著重箱子,倒退地走下楼梯。)
         He works backwards, building a house from the top downwards.(他把工序倒过来了,从上往下建房子。)

例如:The judge rapped for order.(法官敲敲木棰叫人们遵守纪律。)
          The prisoner rapped out a message on the cell wall.(那囚犯敲打囚室的墙来传达讯息。)

例如:We ignore the potential of rain.(我们忽略下雨的可能性。)
          People under stress tend to express their full range of potential.(处于压力下的人容易发挥自己全部的潜力。)

05月12日:Your hair is so tangled that I can't comb it.你的头发太乱了,我梳不动。 

v. 梳理

例如:I washed, combed my hair and went to the workshop.(我洗了脸,梳了头,就去车间了。)
         Then, I shave, brush my teeth and comb my hair.(然后我刮脸,刷牙和梳头发。)
