The Lone Ranger is an upcoming 2013 American action western film produced and directed by Gore Verbinski and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the American Old West character serials of the same name. The film stars Armie Hammer in the title role and Johnny Depp as Tonto.

The Lone Ranger is an action film in which the masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. A Native American spirit warrior, Tonto (Johnny Depp), recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice. The two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
