B-2 stealth bombers of the US Air Force have conducted their first ever firing drill over the Korean Peninsula.

Two B-2 bombers flew to the region on Thursday from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missourie in the United States, dropped ordinance and then returned to base. The flight was a single continuous one ranging over 6,500 miles.

The drill was intended as a warning to the DPRK which has threatened to target US bases in the Pacific Islands of Guam and Hawai and the US mainland.

The B-2 bombers are part of a lethal arsenal of nuclear delivery platforms operated by the United States. The aircraft is invisible to radar and capable of long range precise bombing missions.
