If you wannabe a Spice Girl, there’s an opening. On March 24, Radar Online reported that Victoria Beckham has officially quit the iconic 1990’s girl group, with her rep saying, “Victoria has made no secret of the fact her singing days are over, with a hugely successful business and a growing family. She loved her time as a Spice Girl and will always wish the other girls well in whatever they choose to do.”

And it sounds like the “other girls”—namely Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown – know exactly what they want to do. According to UK’s Mirror, the remaining girls are on the hunt for a new ingredient to add to their spice rack, with a reality show is in the works to find a replacement member for the group’s upcoming world tour. Beckham reportedly told friends she has no plans to ever sing again.

Reality show rock groups are nothing new. In 2005, CBS aired the rock singing competition show “Rock Star: INXS.” On that show, band members searched for a replacement for their late lead singer, Michael Hutchence. In 2006, a follow up show hunted for a member to join the super group Super Nova, featuring Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. And in 2006, hard rockers Sebastian Bach, Jason Bonham, Scott Ian, Ted Nugent and Evan Seinfeld starred in the VH1 reality show “Supergroup.”

So how did those stints pan out? In 2009, INXS winner J.D. Fortune told Rolling Stone the band dumped him in a Hong King airport.

"I literally got handshakes of 'Thank you very much,'" Fortune said, "I found myself really alone because I had traveled with these guys for 23 months. Some of the audiences we played for were upwards of 80,000 people." In November, 2012 INXS split for good.

维多利亚宣布退出“辣妹”组合，伦敦奥运会上的表演也成为这5个人的绝唱，不过贝嫂的退出并不意味着“辣妹”组合的解散。一位消息人士就向媒体曝料称：“其他辣妹成员都觉得，她们还可以通过这个组合取得更大的成功，她们也知道歌迷们仍希望看到她们的演出，在理想的状态下，她们自然希望维多利亚也加入，但后者的退出也不会对这个计划有太大影响。她们已经开始与一家电视出品公司洽谈，双方将合作开展一个真人秀节目，这个节目将选出贝嫂的最佳替代人选，这样辣妹组合将重新开始完整的演出。”

“辣妹”组合成立于1994年，1996年推出了首支单曲“Wannabe”，这首歌迅速风靡英国，而且在超过30个国家的排行榜上位于榜首，1998年被视作“辣妹”核心的杰瑞（Geri）曾宣布退出，其他4人则一直坚持到2000年，2007年“辣妹”组合重聚开展世界巡回表演，而且还发行了一支单曲，2012年伦敦奥运会则是她们迄今最后一次共同演出。
