世界经济论坛（World Economic Forum，简称WEF）是一个非官方的国际组织，总部设在瑞士日内瓦。其前身是现任论坛主席、日内瓦商学院教授克劳斯·施瓦布于1971年创建的“欧洲管理论坛”。1987年，“欧洲管理论坛”更名为“世界经济论坛”。论坛因每年年会都在达沃斯召开，故也被称为“达沃斯论坛”。

2012年1月25至29日的冬季“达沃斯论坛”是世界最高级别的经济论坛，它是各国政要、企业领袖、国际组织领导人和专家学者的“世界级”交流平台。论坛关于世界经济热点问题和发展趋势的讨论，对国际舆论具有重大影响。本次论坛以绿色达沃斯为背景，主题为“大转型：塑造新模式”。

Davos, Switzerland is the next stop in our roundup of today's global headlines. Every year, Davos hosts a conference that's run by the World Economic Forum. This year's meeting started on Wednesday. It runs through the weekend. The theme is "The Great Transformation".

Political leaders, business executives, academics all come together to talk about global issues during this annual meeting. Some of the subjects on the agenda this year include China's economic power and the debt crisis in Europe. There are also sessions on the impact of political uprisings, like last year's so-called Arab Spring, and one on the role that the United States plays in the global economy.
