On a cold afternoon in January 1992, Libby Moritz was waiting. Her children – Joshua, 11, Kristen, 9, and Daniel, 8 – were on their way home from school in a carpool with friends. Minutes turned into hours as Libby's worry turned into dread. She was about to call the police when her husband John arrived. He confirmed her worst fears – their three children were dead. The car in which the children had been traveling had hit ice on the road and had spun into oncoming traffic.

The rest of 1992 was filled with tremendous pain, tears and questions for John and Libby. Lost in grief, the couple from Massachusetts struggled to find purpose in the life without their children. "I told God...to be strong for me so I can take another breath, get dressed and move," Libby says.

John numbly tended to his swimming pool business. A housewife, Libby longed for something that would connect her with her kids again. Between long cries, she found herself in children's stores buying toys. Before long, she had filled an entire room with them.
