"You're breaking up!"
Government agencies are doing the right thing by restricting cell phone use on board aircraft. Obviously, signal interference remains a huge concern. One vexing problem is the interference airborne cell phones could have on existing land-based wireless networks thousands of meters below. This would be a nuisance. What's more, phone signals could also create false warnings, distracting noise and could interfere with an airplane's navigation and communication systems. All this, of course, is dangerous. New technologies promise to solve this electronic puzzle; however, a completely fail-safe system remains elusive.

Bye-bye to peace and quiet
interstingly, the most vocal opposition to in-flight cell phone use seems to be coming from those inside the planes. Passengers cringe at the thought of being held captive to "cell yell" on long international flights. In addition, flight attendants worry that uncomfortable or angry passengers could, in turn, compromise a flight's safety with an unwelcome episode of air rage.
So, if you're flying and you absolutely need to make a phone call, just use the seatback phone, if it's available, with its dedicated air-to-ground frequency. And please, remember to keep your voice down.
Now, what is your viewpoint?
