Chinese sailors in Thailand have started to return to China with their family members. They have been stranded in northern Thailand since two ships were attacked last week. 12 crew members were killed in the attack and one remains missing. The attack took place in Chiang Saen section of the Mekong River and is suspected to have been carried out by drug traffickers. Before starting the journey home, the 164 Chinese sailors were living aboard 26 ships on the Mekong River in the region.
