Why did I join Rolls-Royce? Because I've always wanted to work at the cutting-edge of technology, technology that few companies in the world can produce. We take air travel for granted. But what powers it? 18,000 components, all integrated in perfect harmony. For the 30 years, the Rolls-Royce gas turbine may stay in service. The technology required for this is amazing. Our global research teams invented this turbine blade. It can operate at up to 200 degrees higher than its melting point. It took 70 suppliers and over 30 universities and research centres to make it. RUT vessels are the marine industry benchmark for work such as supply, off-loading, anchor-handling and cabling. This means designing and building specialised marine vessels and the integrated power systems that control them. We use satellite technology and dynamic-positioning to enable a ship to hold its position within +/- 2 metres while carrying out precise work in rough seas. We power the most advanced manned and unmanned aircraft in the world, supporting both defence and humanitarian missions. We generate vital electricity in compact stations, like here in Asia. Our products pump oil and compress gas from thousands of kilometres to where it's needed most. That's what we do. One team and one brand, trusted to deliver excellence. Our intellectual property differentiates us from our competitors, opens global markets and continues to drive company growth. Our global team works in over 50 different countries, supporting customers right across the world, monitoring engines and power systems, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We manage 8,000 suppliers globally and look after our customers with service hubs all over the world. Services are now over 50% of our annual revenues and growing. We invest over £900 million annually in R&D to produce the most advanced and efficient power systems in the world. We keep society on the move, on land, at sea and in the air. My name is Lindy Kellen, born in Germany and a graduate trainee. I'm part of a team of 40,000 people that makes all this happen. That's why I joined Rolls-Royce.
