Mickey Mouse celebrates his 83rd birthday
米老鼠的不老传奇：贺米奇83岁高寿

Mickey Mouse, Disney’s famous, glove-wearing rodent, celebrates his 83rd birthday this year – and there’s not a grey hair or laughter line in sight.
米奇是一只戴着手套的老鼠，是迪士尼著名的卡通形象，而今年已经是米老鼠的83岁华诞了！但是，这是可爱的小老鼠没有一根银丝，也没有一条皱纹，还是那只笑容满面的小老鼠！

The creation of producer, director and animator Walt Disney, Mickey was based on an adopted pet mouse and originally named Mortimer. Disney’s wife Lillian decided that this was too ‘pompous’ a name, so Mortimer was renamed Mickey. With his identity established, Mickey could began his meteoric rise into the hearts and minds of young people (and adults) everywhere.
米老鼠是由动画大师、制片人兼导演的华特-迪士尼创造出来的，其原型是迪士尼饲养过的一只小老鼠。米奇的原名叫做莫蒂默，但华特先生的太太莉莲觉得这个名字太浮夸了，于是改名叫米奇，米奇的身份确立之后，就开始大展宏图起来，到如今成为家喻户晓、老少皆爱的大明星了。

The first Disney film to find a distributor and feature a soundtrack was Steamboat Willie, which introduced Mickey to the world on 18 November 1928 – now celebrated as his birthday.

In 1978, celebrating his fiftieth birthday, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The release of a 2009 video game – Epic Mickey – re-imagined the mouse as a mischievous, heroic character, leaving his pleasant-manner and cheerful demeanour behind. An attempt to bring Mickey into the present day, to appeal to young peoples’ playful sensibilities, was a success. The Mickey Mouse brand is unshakeable and his longevity is testament to that.
2009年发行的米奇游戏把它重新塑造成顽皮淘气又有英雄气概的米老鼠，取代了从前彬彬有礼、热情优雅的形象。这样的创新使得米奇可以与时俱进，吸引年轻人。这一转变取得了成功。米老鼠这一品牌经历了各种考验之后，仍然历久弥新、长盛不衰！
