A group of correspondents from Chinese mainland media organizations got a chance to explore Taiwan's cities and countryside. This is the first time that Taiwan has invited such a large group of mainland media, marking a breakthrough in the history of Cross-Strait exchange.

The journalists from ten mainland TV stations made their tour from Taipei to Tainan, and from Huanlien to Changhua. The group participated in a program called "Impression Taiwan." The mainlanders got their "impression" by conducting many interviews with the local people. The program was led by CCTV International and co-sponsored by ETTV Taiwan. The program aims to increase understanding between the mainland and Taiwan.

During the eight-day program, the journalists got to know about Taiwan's unique culture, customs, traditional architecture, and more importantly the people.

Han Jun from Shandong TV said, "We interviewed local people and saw the ancient architecture such as Tin Hau Temple, old streets, etc. They all left a profound impression on me."

Liu Yaqiong of Sichuan TV said, "This is my first visit to Taiwan and people here are so nice!"

The correspondents are planning to produce a feature documentary to bring the unique charm of Taiwan to mainland audiences. The film will be presented on CCTV and other mainland channels.
