The Boy Lived Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four Privet Drive were proudto say that they were perfectly normal thank you very much.They were the last people youd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious because they just didn't hold with such nonsense.

Not for the first time, an argument had broken out over breakfast at number four, Privet Drive. Mr. Vernon Dursley had been woken in the early hours of the morning by a loud, hooting noise from his nephew Harry's room.

 The villagers of Little Hangleron still called it "the Riddle House," even though it had been many years since the Riddle family had lived there. It stood on a hill overlooking the village, some of its windows boarded, tiles missing from its roof, and ivy spreading unchecked over its face. Once a fine-looking manor, and easily the largest and grandest building for miles around, the Riddle House was now damp, derelict, and unoccupied.

The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive. Cars that were usually gleaming stood dusty in their drives and lawns that were once emerald green lay parched and yellowing—for the use of hosepipes had been banned due to drought. Deprived of their usual car-washing and lawn-mowing pursuits, the inhabitants of Privet Drive had retreated into the shade of their cool houses, windows thrown wide in the hope of tempting in a nonexistent breeze. The only person left outdoors was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside number four.
夏季最严热的日子逐渐走入尾声，小文金镇女贞路上硕大的方房子都笼罩在夏末的慵懒和宁静之中。原本擦得甑亮的汽车上现在沾满了尘土，停在房子旁边的车位上，而翠绿的草坪也显出了片片黄斑－－因为夏季干旱缺水，政府已经禁止用水浇地和洗车了。在夏天除了洗车与浇草坪再无别事的女贞路住户在被剥夺了这两项权力之后，只有纷纷躲回他们阴凉的房子里，把窗户开得大大的，幻想着能有一丝风通过。这时候待在房子外面的只有躺在女贞路４号花丛里的一个十四五岁的男孩。

It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office, reading a long memo that was slipping through his brain without leaving the slightest trace of meaning behind. He was waiting for a call from the President of a far distant country, and between wondering when the wretched man would telephone, and trying to suppress unpleasant memories of what had been a very long, tiring, and difficult week, there was not much space in his head for anything else. 
差不多快到午夜了，首相独自坐在办公室里，读着一份长长的备忘录，但是他脑子里一片空白，根本不明白那上面写的是什么意思。他在等一个遥远国家的总统打来电话。他一方面怀疑那个倒霉的家伙到底会不会来电话，另一方面克制着对这一漫长而累人的一周的许多令人不快的回忆，所以脑子里便没有多少空间想别的事情了。

《哈利·波特与混血王子》：书中的混血王子其实是西弗勒斯·斯内普教授，因为其母（纯血统）的姓氏为 “Prince”（普林斯，英文意为“王子”），而其父是个麻瓜，他以自己是半个普林斯而荣幸，故称自己为“混血王子”。斯内普用“阿瓦达索命”这句咒语 杀了邓布利多，麦格教授成为了霍格沃茨魔法学校的临时校长，但是学校很可能将会因为不安全而被关闭。

7 哈利·波特与死亡圣器

The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart in the narrow, moonlit lane. For a second they stood quite still, wands directed at each other’s chests; then, recognizing each other, they stowed their wands beneath their cloaks and started walking briskly in the same direction.
