This is AP News Minute.

The death toll from a series of ferocious storms across the South has risen to at least 200 people. Hardest hit was Alabama where at least 131 are dead. Alabama's governor has declared a state of emergency and several other counties in southern states have done the same.

Several of the devastating tornadoes were caught on tape. Storm chasers caught this twister that tore through Tuscaloosa. In Philadelphia Mississippi, photographers saw a tornado tearing through trees and powerlines as it crossed a road.

President Obama is expected to announce a major national security shuffle today. Obama is expected to say CIA Director Leon Panetta will move to the Pentagon to replace Robert Gates. Gates is expected to retire June 30th. Obama is also expected to announce that General David Petraeus will take over the CIA job.

And with just a day to go, the royals are having a final rehearsal. Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were spotted at Westminster Abbey preparing for Friday's royal wedding. The rehearsal came as Middleton and Prince William released their wedding program, which says they have been deeply touched by an outpouring of affection toward them.
