I would like to extend warm wishes and congratulations to the People’s Republic of China on the 60th anniversary of its founding on October 1. In the last 30 years, China has undergone an extraordinary economic transformation, lifting millions of people out of poverty. This is truly an historic accomplishment.


值此10月1日中华人民共和国成立60周年之际，我谨向中华人民共和国表示热诚的祝愿和庆贺。近30年来，中国经历了非凡的经济转型，千百万人民因此摆脱了贫困。这的确是具有历史意义的成就。


The United States is pleased that this year also marks the 30th anniversary of U.S.-PRC diplomatic relations. We are committed to building a positive, cooperative and comprehensive relationship that reflects the deepening ties between our two countries and enhances the security and prosperity of all our people.


今年适逢美国与中华人民共和国建交30周年，美国也为此感到高兴。我们承诺努力建设体现我们两国之间日益加深的联系并增进我们全体人民安全与繁荣的积极、合作和全面的相互关系。
