今天（2月8日）是法国科幻小说作家儒勒·凡尔纳(Jules Verne)183周年的诞辰。凡尔纳是19世纪法国著名的科幻小说和冒险小说作家，被誉为“现代科学幻想小说之父”， 作品有《海底两万里》、《地心游记》、《80天环游地球》等。他的很多作品后来都被拍成电影，而在他作品中的许多设想，比如潜水艇、空中旅行等，在今天也变成了现实。

Jules Gabriel Verne (February 8, 1828 – March 24, 1905) was a French author from Brittany who pioneered the science-fiction genre. He is best known for novels such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873).

Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before air travel and practical submarines were invented, and before practical means of space travel had been devised. He is the third most translated individual author in the world, according to Index Translationum. Some of his books have been made into films. Verne, along with Hugo Gernsback and H. G. Wells, is often popularly referred to as the "Father of Science Fiction".

而为纪念他的诞辰，谷歌也将今天的Doodle涂鸦标识以凡尔纳著名科幻小说《海底两万里》为主题进行设计。

与此前几次类似，今天的Doodle也采用了互动设计，用户可以通过右侧的操纵杆来控制视图，就像是亲自操控潜水艇探索深海一样。
