Motivate = mot-（移动）+ -ive-（形容词词尾，e略）+ -ate（动词词尾），引申为“促进、激励”，同近义词有drive。Motivate强调驱使人们采取行动的原因或动机。Drive侧重外来的驱策力和内心感情力量的驱使。
