“cold feet”是脚冷吗？⊙

寒冬腊月，空有一身正气也拯救不了手脚冰凉星人，但千万不要用cold feet来表达脚冷哦。
 
因为cold feet的含义是“临时退缩，胆怯”，和中文语境的“腿软”有异曲同工之妙。常见的搭配有”get cold feet”和“have cold feet”。
 
e.g. He planned to participate in the demonstration, but then he had cold feet.
他打算参加示威，但临阵退缩了。
 
Some people always get cold feet when they go to a test.
有些人考试的时候总是感到害怕。

1. cold in hand 
手头拮据

e.g. To be frank, I’m cold in hand these days.

2. cold shoulder 
冷漠对待，不理不睬
an attitude of rejection.
 
e.g. I don't understand why she gave me the cold shoulder. 
我不明白她为何对我如此冷淡。
 
3. a cold fish
态度冷冰冰的人; 不热情的人
a person who is distant and unfeeling
 
e.g. The old man's a real cold fish. I've never seen him laugh.
这老头真是个冷冰冰的人，我从来没见他笑过。
 
4. cold comfort 
于事无补的安慰; 不起作用的慰藉
no comfort or consolation at all
 
e.g. She knows there are others worse off than her, but that’s cold comfort.
她知道有人过得比她更糟糕，但这对她来说只是于事无补的安慰。
