虽然说，圣诞老人的原型圣尼古拉实际上来自土耳其，但现在的传说却普遍说他住在芬兰，说他的基地在这、他的小精灵帮手都在这、他的礼物全是在这里的流水线生产的。

他的这个大本营就在芬兰的罗瓦涅米 Rovaniemi，芬兰人在这建了个圣诞老人度假乐园——圣诞老人村 Santa Claus Village

Santa Claus is from Turkey. Saint Nicholas was born far from the North Pole, in Patara. But the Finns regard their country as the home of Santa Claus, or Saint Nicholas, and he lives in the northern region of Lapland.
圣诞老人来自土耳其。圣尼古拉的出生地帕塔拉离北极远着呢。但芬兰人认为他们的国家是圣诞老人或圣尼古拉斯的家乡，而且他住在芬兰拉普兰北部地区。
