葡萄牙和英国一直是同盟

葡萄牙和英国至今还履行着世界上现行最老的外交联盟，只要一国参战，另一国也会跟着参战。

葡萄牙就是这样参与第一次世界大战的。

Portugal and England have the oldest diplomatic alliance in the world. The Anglo-Portuguese Alliance was signed in 1373 and is in force until this day! Both countries entered wars to defend the other, including the United Kingdom entering the Iberian Peninsular War and Portugal entering World War I.
葡萄牙和英格兰拥有世界上最古老的外交联盟。英葡联盟于1373年签署，并且至今任然有效！两国都曾参为保卫对方而参战，包括英国参加伊比利亚半岛战争和葡萄牙参加第一次世界大战。
