过生日这个习俗是从哪个文明发扬出来的？

反正希腊人不过生日，他们过的是另一种日，叫“命名日”。

In Greece, people celebrate the “name day” of the saint that bears their name rather than their own birthday.No one in Greece can choose to not vote. Voting is required by law for every citizen who is 18 or older.
在希腊，人们庆祝和本人同名的圣人的“命名日”，而不是他们自己的生日。希腊没有人可以选择不投票。法律规定每一个年满18岁的希腊公民都需要投票。
