巴西在名义上并不是个宗教国家，但全国的绝大部分人都信教，而且拥有全球最大的天主教信徒人口。

Brazil boasts the largest population of Catholics in the world at 73.6% of its population. Known as the “Black Madonna,” Nossa Senhora de Aparecida (Our Lady of Aparecida) is a celebrated 18th century clay statue of the Virgin Mary and is considered the patron saint of Brazil.
巴西拥有世界上最多的天主教徒，其人数占巴西人口的73.6%。被称为“黑色圣母”的诺萨·圣赫拉·德·阿帕雷西达（我们的阿帕雷西达圣母）是18世纪著名的圣母玛利亚泥塑，她被视为巴西的守护神。
