over your head当然不是越过某人头顶的意思。

它表示因为内容太难或者是太过奇怪,所以无法理解,和can't understand和beyond understanding意思差不多。

比如:

I tried to take in what he was saying about nuclear fusion, but most of it went over my head.
我努力去理解他所说的核聚变,但大部分内容都让我理解不了。
