Europe's big chill has also affected other aspects of daily life across the continent.

In downtown Brussels, two workers are delivering meat to this deli.

Heavy snow caused the delivery to be delayed by more than a day, but the price remained the same much to the relief of the deli's manager.

In northern England's Yorkshire dales, heavy snow has made life for farmer Bobby Clarkson much tougher.

Snow has blanketed the grass, meaning he must feed his 300 sheep with costly fodder. It's an expense that he could do without.

Bobby Clarkson, Farmer, Yorkshire, England, said, "Well you get on with it, with farming, I think, you have to do. It's there to do everyday so you know, you might have a bit extra, but you've just to keep going. It's a way of life and that's it, you know, always used to it seven days a week so you know, there's nothing else I'd rather do."

Meanwhile in Paris, tourists hit the ice at the Eiffel Tower, where a skating rink is open 57 meters above the French capital.

For American tourists Burt and Colette, ice skating on top of the country's iconic monument is a memorable experience.

Burt & Colette, American Tourists, Paris, France, said, "It's awesome, once in a lifetime." "I know, I don't even like skating." "I'm terrible!"

It wasn't just tourists enjoying the winter wonderland. A crowd of local children and adults also made the most of the elevated skating rink.
