Domestically, the tropical island Hainan is offering travelers the best sunshine to dodge the cold weather. At the same time, people are also flocking to go skiing in Northeastern Heilongjiang Province.

Manager Zhang Qingzhu from Comfort Travel, says this year's domestic tourist market has seen a marked contrast compared to last year's.

"There are two hot destinations-one is up north, the other is down south. Many people from the North want sun bathe so they choose to fly to Hainan, but many southern people choose to celebrate the New Year in the snowy northeastern area. Now 80 percent of the hotel rooms have been booked for the three-day New Year holiday."

Booking luxury cruise trips is also proving to be quite popular during the seven-day Spring Festival Holiday.

Destinations include four countries along the Mediterranean coast, and five countries on a route that passes through Dubai. Prices range from 19,500 to 22,500 yuan per person.

Some agencies say during this Christmas, five-day cruise trips from Hong Kong to Sanya are still available at a price of 4,200 yuan.
