At Debbie's school,students can write to the teacher counsellor
about their problems as well as speak to her.
Here are extracts from three letters she received recently.
1 One evening last month,
I was visiting a close friend in her new high rise flat
when she accidentally knocked a flower pot from her window.
It smashed on the ground below,narrowly missing some children at play.
However,we could see that no one was hurt,
so we said nothing and left for the movies as planned.
Returning home later that evening,
my friend learned that the police had been to the flats
and questioned all the tenants present.
They had even taken the son of one tenant to the police station.
After questioning him,they let him go temporarily.
Frightened of losing her job in the civil service,
my friend has said nothing to the police.

1 上个月某一天的晚上,
我去一个好朋友家,她家住在一栋高楼大厦里
这时候她不小心把一个花盆从窗台推了下去。
这个花盆在地上砸得粉碎,差点就砸中了在旁边玩的小孩。
但是我们看得很清楚,没有人受伤,
所以我们说应该没什么事,然后就按计划去看电影了。
那天晚上回家的时候已经很晚了,
我的朋友得知警察来过大楼
并且询问了当时所有在场的住户。
他们甚至把一个住户的孩子带去了警察局。
在询问他之后,立马就让他离开了。
由于害怕丢了公务员的工作,
我朋友什么都没跟警察说。
