商务英语中，常常有一些词，让人很容易产生误解，比如undercut
 
乍看之下，你是不是觉得这是 “在下面划” 的意思呢？
 
其实呢，undercut 在商务英语中，是 “廉价出售” 的意思，比如：
 
Subsidies allow growers to undercut competitors and depress world prices.
补贴使得种植者能以低于竞争对手的价格出售并压低世界价格。
 
We can't help turing down your offer as other suppliers are undercutting.
我们不得不谢绝贵方报盘，因为其他供应商的报价比你们低。
 
当然啦，在日常英语中，undercut 还有 “削弱…的地位；削减…的力量” 的意思，比如：
 
Of course, misusing military resources can also undercut soft power.
当然，对军事力量的滥用也会削弱软实力。
