There’s a new hurricane swirling in the Caribbean. Tomas has winds of around 75 miles per hour and it’s hitting the eastern islands now. Forecasters expect it to get stronger.

Democrats and Republican hopefuls are making one last push before Election Day. President Barack Obama is travelling to three states today to campaign while Republicans are trying to shore up what some say appears to be a landslide fallout.

A massive throng has spent hours hearing a call for civility and yucking it up. Comedy Central comedians John Steward and Stephen Colbert organized the so-called “sanity” rally. Steward told the crowd that the nation is facing hard times, not end times.
