New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg says he will introduce legislation requiring colleges to adopt a code of conduct that prohibits bullying and harassment. The Democrat made the announcement Wednesday at a town meeting in memory of 18-year-old Tyler Clementi. He committed suicide after a gay sexual encounter of his was broadcast online.

A government official in Hungary says the toxic sludge that flowed from a metals plant reservoir has reached the Danube River. However, they say there are no immediate reports of damage. The sludge’s left more than 100 people with chemical burns but it’s been reduced enough where it’s unlikely to cause further damage.

Authorities have confirmed that child actor Gary Coleman’s death was an accident. An autopsy found that Coleman died of natural causes after an accidental fall. The autopsy conclusions bring the police investigation into the death to a close.

For just the second time in history, someone has pitched no-hitter in baseball’s playoffs. This time, it was the Phillies’ Roy Halladay who held the Cincinnati Reds hitless in a 4-0 win. Don Larsen was the other pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the postseason. He threw a perfect game for the Yankees in the 1956 World Series.
