U.S. Marshals say John McCluskey and Casslyn Welch were caught when an alert forest ranger spotted an unattended campfire then saw suspicious car at the scene. The stolen license plate traced back to McCluskey and Welch and a SWAT team was called in.

Controversy still swirls one year after Lockerbie bomber was released from prison. Scottish officials released Abdel Basset Al-Megrahi from prison on compassionate grounds after completing only 8 years of his life sentence. His doctors gave him only a few months to live because of prostate cancer.

The U.S. is calling on other nations to help Pakistan in the aftermath of historic flooding. Monsoon rains last month left about 1/5 of the country’s territory inundated with water. The U.S, Germany and Saudi Arabia all announced new pledges of aid, while Japan said it would send helicopters.
